I'm sitting here at a Starbucks working on my computer while my daughter reads her book.
So far, the barista has welcomed every customer with,
"Hello, how can I make your day better today?"
When I got my drink, I thanked him and said, "have a great day!" He responded with, "wishing yours is even better!!"
I looked at my daughter as she smiled, and sat down with her. I loved that she witnessed a positive example of living with zest in someone who is a stranger to her. I talked to her about how the barista wasn't just focused on getting the job done, rather he cared to make a positive connection and you can see the impact on the customer.
That's what we can do with people we come across--through the attitude and perspective we choose to own.
Making an impact is simply about directing our focus to what's in front of us and giving what we are capable of giving.
This is the ultimate gift we can offer to life.
