A profound lesson in trusting God...
Years ago, when my son Yosef Shalom was just a toddler, he witnessed the making of his favorite pasta dinner. He happily climbed up on his high chair to get a better look. Step by step, he watched—his gaze fixed on me putting the dry pasta in the pot, stiring as it cooked, and preparing the ingredients for the sauce.
But then, came a moment that broke my heart. When I drained the pasta into a strainer over the sink, Yosef Shalom burst into tears. To him, it appeared as if I was throwing away his cherished dinner—disposing of it right when he was yearning for it. In that instant, his world came crashing down.
I knew there was nothing I could do in the moment. I wanted to rush through the next steps, to quickly ease his distress. But I couldn't move any faster than I could. The art of preparing his favorite dish required time and patience. Each step was a vital chapter in the ultimate story of his meal, and it couldn't be skipped or rushed.
So there he was, crying his eyes out feeling very hurt that I, his mother--THE person he trusts--actually dismissed his hunger and his needs.
And then...the final moment came. I lovingly presented the finished masterpiece to him-- spaghetti perfectly coated in his favorite sauce, cooked to the exact temperature he needed.
With tears still wet on his cheeks, he laughed and smiled as relief washed over him like a warm embrace, knowing that I hadn't forget him after all.
His appreciation for the meal that night was palpable. It was as if the pain of the preceding moments magnified the sweetness of his joy.
Isn't this often how the story of our own relationship with God unfolds? There are moments when we feel forgotten, even forsaken. Our vision is clouded by challenges and tests, making us question whether Hashem is truly looking out for us. But what we often fail to realize is that God is crafting our destiny in a perfect divine sequence, with infinite wisdom and love.
Like a Master Chef, God cannot rush the recipe of our lives. Each challenge we face, every tear we shed, contributes to the final dish—a destiny that isn't just something to accept but to deeply cherish. When it finally comes into view, every detail is exactly as it needs to be—each one a stroke of divine love and intricate planning.
We can actualize our full potential when we practice patience and unwavering trust, even when the world seems to crumble around us. For the ultimate plan, authored by the Master Planner Himself, is often more glorious, more spectacular, than anything we could ever envision.
Thank You, Hashem, for never ceasing to amaze us with Your wisdom and love.
